MediaTek Helio P30
MediaTek Helio P30
Bringing premium wide and telephoto dual camera
photography experience to mainstream smartphones
Extensive
Dual-Camera System
Its 16+16MP dual camera system is powered by two 14-bit ISPs, allowing a combination of wide + telephoto zoom lenses for real-time depth-of-field effects, zHDR and improved real-time de-noise in low-light conditions for both photography and video recording. Optical zoom functions enable a sharp image up to 10x zoom (depending on device lens selection), allowing a greater choice of photography from wide/panoramic through to telephoto. Incorporating 2x1 PDAF and EIS 3.0 with integrated RSC gives superb image capture quality, even when moving. A single camera operating mode of up to 25MP is also supported.
Never miss a ‘spur of the moment’ scene with MediaTek Instant Auto Exposure (AE). The dedicated, hardware Camera Control Unit (CCU) delivers considerably faster, focal correction and exposure adjustment when environmental lighting conditions change suddenly. AE convergence speed is up to twice as fast as competitive auto exposure performance.
The new Vision Processing Unit (VPU) is a dedicated 500MHz DSP paired to the Image Signal Processors (ISP), providing a dedicated processing platform for numerous camera features, freeing up the CPU and GPU to save power and compute resource. Key advantages include:
- Programmability and Flexibility: The VPU provides a platform that allows brands the ability to customize camera functionality and drive product differentiation.
- Huge Power Reduction: The VPU is a dedicated camera-assisting hardware unit that can perform real-time processing functions that were typically assigned to CPU or GPU, but at only a tenth of the power usage.
- Performance Boost: The VPU can still be used in isolation or as part of a team with the CPU/GPU; a true heterogeneous computing environment on the same memory subsystem for advanced multi-application or multi-function tasks.
Powerful,
Heterogeneous Compute Environment
Supporting both is a fast 2x 1600MHz LDPPR4x subsystem that supports up to 6GB of memory. Product designers can choose between cost effective eMMC 5.1 or the latest UFS 2.1 storage interface, depending on their market requirements.
An ultra-low power sensor hub gives a highly-capable, ‘always-on’ functionality that is ideal for applications such as the WeChat pedometer and AI assistants. Powered by a 330MHz, ARM Cortex-M4 with 512kB cache, this commonly used ARM M-core is easily programmable and flexible for brands and application designers to customize functionality, while only sipping battery life. Software features can include: A+G+M/9-axis, pressure & ALS/PS sensors, pedometer, activity measuring, gesture measuring, MPE, FLP, VOW, and sensor fusion functionality. The sensor hub includes a non-DSP based, smart power amplification function and it supports low power DRAM access and Android N’s Hi-Fi sensors too.
