Korora 26: A pretty elegant Fedora remix

In the search of distributions of Linux with a good aspect I have found with Korora, already in previous occasions it has been spoken about this distribution based on Fedora here in the blog. Personally I did not know her, so when I read about her I decided to give her a chance.
Initially Korora was born on the basis of Gentoo, which ceased to have support because the creator decided to abandon the project. But some years ago the project was resumed, but this time I take Fedora as a base and since then Korora Linux has been updating with each new release of Fedora.
Korora to be based on Fedora without a doubt is a fairly robust and stable distribution, so it is distributed with the official packages and repositories of Fedora.
The creator of Korora catalogs it as a Fedora Remix, but its approach is to provide a stable and simple to use system because the approach it has is to capture new users and that these do not have the greatest complication for its use.

Korora 26

Currently the distribution is in version 26 and has the following desktop environments, from which we can choose which will be the default after having installed it.

Cinammon 3.4

Korora 26 includes the version of Cinnamon 3.4 with which within the main features is that each complement of this is executed separately and no longer together.

GNOME 3.24

With GNOME 3.24 comes a host of new features for the Gnome desktop, including the new Night Light configuration that reduces eye strain.

KDE Plasma 5.10

With this version of KDE Korora gains a new default desktop view and improvements in the Task Manager from a long list of improvements.

Mate 1.18

Korora includes this version because it already has a complete migration to GTK3

Xfce 4.12

Finally, the last of the desktop environments that Korora offers us, which improved a lot and the design is even cleaner and more elegant, this in order to improve the user experience in several ways.

Korora Repositories

Within what Korora 26 offers, as in any of its other versions includes several repositories with which we will have access to a wide variety of applications
  • Adobe
  • Fedora
  • Fedora Updates
  • Korora
  • RPMFusion Gratis
  • RPMFusion no libre
  • Actualizaciones gratuitas de RPMFusion
  • Actualizaciones no gratuitas de RPMFusion

Just 64 bits

Also one of the big changes in this new version is that only the Korora images have been created for 64-bit systems, since the developers have decided not to create a 32-bit system anymore.

The argument to stop giving support to the architecture of 32 bits is because they argue that it is not so much in demand, so they consider that it makes sense to invest time in it.

Korora 26 adds the backups

From the point of view of the developer, it is important to always have the data protected, so it has decided to include information backups in all its flavors.
"We are always improving the range of applications included in Korora and since version 26 all desktop environments now include a backup solution, we know how important your data is to you, so we wanted to make it easier for you to protect it."
For Cinnamon, Gnome, XFCE and Mate we will find Déjà Dup while for KDE, you will have Back in Time. With them we will have the option of making backups of our information.

Finally, if you want to try this distribution based on Fedora or simply just want to try it and decide whether to give it a try, we must go to its official website and in the download section choose the version of Korora with the desktop environment of our liking. The link is this.

Personally I have decided to use Fedora again, so I have not hesitated to try this distro that has caught my attention, so I may be talking a bit more about it later on.
