The registration of the III Edition of the Open Awards will end on April 11


As is happening in recent years, the events surrounding the OpenExpo Europe for the month of June have already started. As usual for three years, during the month of March and April the Open Awards are held. Specifically, the III Edition of the Open Awards will take place.
A contest where the best products related to Free Software are awarded. Helping them for a year with various tools and especially with advertising.
The awards ceremony will be held during the same OpenExpo Europe that will take place on June 6 and 7.

However, the submission of applications will have a deadline. This date will be April 11; After that, a popular voting process will be opened from April 18 until May 16 and the winners will pass to a jury that will deliberate and decide in favor of the best Free Software project.


But, during this III Edition, there will not be simply three prizes but will be rewarded according to the categories that have been created. Thus, there will be prizes for the following categories:

• Best Technology Community
• Best media or blog
• Improvement project in Transparency, Citizen Participation and Open Government

These prizes do not have any economic endowment, but they will have a great diffusion among the users of the event, the sponsors and the participating companies.

This for any event would not be much, but OpenExpo Europe has become one of the biggest events of Free Software where more and more companies and institutions of the technology sector are participating.

In the last edition, there was a massive participation, also affecting the Open Awards that registered more than 130 projects.
