WSL DistroLauncher, a tool for Windows users to use Gnu / Linux or for new Gnu / Linux users to use Windows?





The news of the Linux for Windows subsystem has attracted the attention of many users and has caused many users to reconcile with Windows. But after several months and later versions, we can say that only four distributions are compatible with this subsystem, namely Ubuntu, Debian, OpenSUSE and Kali Linux. The plans of many users, companies and even Microsoft were to have in a short time hundreds of Gnu / Linux distributions compatible with this Subsystem, but they have not succeeded.

That is why a tool called WSL DistroLauncher has been launched that will help us to have any Gnu / Linux distribution in Windows 10.

This tool is Free Software and will allow us to install any Gnu / Linux distribution in Windows 10 thanks to the Hyper-V virtualization that has Windows 10.

This tool can be obtained through the official Github repository. Once we have installed it and use it, we can have the installed distribution uploaded to Microsoft Store so that other users can install it on their Windows 10.

Thus, we can install Fedora and after installing it on our Windows 10, upload it to the Microsoft Store. But not everything is so easy and simple. On the one hand, Microsoft has stated that it will be critical when approving the distributions sent. And on the other hand, the use of Hyper-V will make other virtualization services can not be used at the risk of blue screen.

So this is a tool that was born to help companies and system administrators but that will finally be a headache for them and possibly make many users end up using Gnu / Linux instead of Windows. In any case, once again, Gnu / Linux proves to have a live community and offer solutions that other proprietary operating systems do not offer, although in this case it is for a proprietary operating system.
